Ana Aguerrevere: Mad About Marbles
Congratulations are in order! On April 9th we announced the winners of our 16th Annual Art Competition. Among the talented selections was Studio 18’s very own Ana Aguerrevere. Ana’s vibrant oil painting Marbles beat out the competition to become this year’s ‘Festival Poster Winner’. Ana describes her paintings as “fun and realistic, with a story behind them”. She aims to “transmit realism through the use of bright colors, and the contrast of lights and shadows”.
Copies of the poster will be available for purchase at the 23rd Annual Artfest in the Pines. We encourage you to attend the event and connect with Ana in person on November 6th & 7th.
Yochi Yakir Avin: A Personal Note
Join us in congratulating 2021 CIP Grant recipient, Yochi Yakir-Avin! Yochi is a long-standing artist in residence at Studio 18 in the Pines. Her exhibition and interactive installation, 'A Personal Note’ will display from May 1st to May 29th at the Broward County Main Library.
“The exhibition consists of selected oil paintings, most of them portraits created recently, reflecting the artist’s European education experience, and influences. As part of the presentation, a three-dimensional interactive installation that connects to Yakir-Avin’s Memory Project, will be installed.”
