Captain Darryl Curtiss

Captain Darryl Curtiss joined the Pembroke Pines Police Department in September of 1999.  Prior to joining our department he spent two years as a corrections officer with the Florida Department of Corrections.  

During his career he has served in the following positions of Patrol Officer, Crime Suppression Team Officer, and Gang Task Force member.  In October of 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  While in this capacity he has served as a Patrol Sergeant, General Investigations Sergeant, Special Victims Unit Sergeant, Crime Scene Unit Supervisor, Field Force Supervisor, member of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, FBI Taskforce member, and the Sergeant of the Robbery/Homicide Unit.  In January 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Captain Curtiss has completed over 80 college credit hours, as well as completing courses from Force Science, the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer Development Course, Nova Southeastern University’s Executive Leadership Program, FBI LEEDA’s Supervisory Leadership Institute, and the Public Safety Leadership Academy.  In addition, he has completed hundreds of hours in additional specialized training and leadership courses. 

Captain Darryl Curtiss currently serves in the Patrol Division.
