A candidate must be a voting citizen in good standing in Broward County. More specifically...
- To qualify as a mayoral candidate, the citizen must have been a resident of the City of Pembroke Pines for at least 180 days immediately and continuously prior to qualifying for office.
- To run as a candidate for a commission district seat, the citizen must resided within their designated election district for at least 180 days immediately and continuously prior to qualifying for elective office.

- DS-DE 84: Statement of Candidate
- DS-DE 9: Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository

- Must file Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository (Form DS-DE 9) with the City Clerk's office before any contributions are accepted or expenditures are made or petition signatures gathered;
- Must file a Statement of Candidate (Form DS-DE 84) within ten (10) days of filing the Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository;
