Captain Pereira is a graduate of the Broward County Police Academy class 237. He has served the Pembroke Pines Police Department as a law enforcement officer since 2005. During his tenure, Captain Pereira has served in the following roles: Patrol Officer, Backgrounds Investigator, Economic Crimes Detective, Homeland Security Team member, Road Patrol Sergeant, Traffic Homicide Sergeant, Internal Affairs Sergeant, Training Sergeant, and Economic Crimes Detective Sergeant.
Captain Pereira has a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Arts and Humanities from Florida Atlantic University, a master’s degree in Public Administration, and a graduate level certificate in Non-Profit Management also from Florida Atlantic University. In addition, Captain Pereira has an MBA in Management from Fitchburg State University and is a graduate of the Broward Institute of Public Safety’s Leadership Academy.
Captain Pereira was promoted to his current rank in February 2024. He is currently assigned to Road Patrol.
