Pembroke Pines, FL – (November 5, 2019) Calling all bakers and dessert makers as everyone is invited to put their holiday baking skills to the test and satisfy the taste buds of others as the Master Chef “South Florida Style” Holiday Baking Challenge will be here before you know it.  The event starts promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the main hall of the City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 NW 103rdAvenue in Pembroke Pines (off Johnson Street, one block west of Palm Avenue).              

Participants can display their delicious holiday desserts such as coconut cakes, key lime pies, cookies, puddings, croissants and any other delicacy that captures the essence of South Florida Style.  Holiday bakers can tickle the fancy of the judges’ palates by taking them on a sweet treat destination like no other.  This year’s celebrity judges will be from the College of Culinary Arts at Johnson and Wales University.  Make sure to be at the top of your game and not miss out on the opportunity to go home with some extra cash. The money prize goes to first, second and third place winners.  All SWFP members interested in participating can obtain the necessary forms at the Activities Desk.  Participants must fill out and submit their Entry forms by no later than Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
 
To be a part of the challenge, contestants are encouraged to grasp the allure of the holiday season by bringing in their favorite home baked holiday dessert.  Only home baked submissions, with provided ingredients, will be permitted – Candy is not permitted. All participants must be SWFP members and present to win.
 
Applicants are encouraged to be creative and keep in mind that judges are not only looking for the best tasting desserts, they are also looking for those that offer the best scent and appearance.
