Raising Positive Children:
The Power of You(th)
“Re-Imagining Our Community”

Pembroke Pines, FL  (October 31, 2019) – As part of a free and award-winning series, parents/guardians of school-age children, educators and youth advocates are invited to a special presentation, “Raising Positive Children: The Power of You(th),” focusing on “Re-Imagining Our Community.” It will be held at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will take a close look at key youth issues such as cyberbullying, family stress and feeling out of place in today’s society.

Unlike previous forums, there will not only be a special guest speaker, but also moving musical performances.  The featured guest speaker will be Enrique Feldman, Founder and Director of Learning for the Global Learning Foundation, established in 2000.  It is a non-profit organization which has impacted the lives of over 135,000 children, families and businesses.  He is a two-time Grammy Nominated Performing Artist, a father, husband, author, educator, and advocate for self-care, inclusion, equity and diversity.

Special performances feature drummer extraordinaire Willie Stewart and his Rhythms in Conversations, and a 5th grade chorus of students from the Pembroke Pines Charter Schools.

This is the fifth in a series of presentations hosted by Pembroke Pines Vice Mayor Iris A. Siple, West Campus Charter School Principal Michael Castellano, the Education Roundtable Forum and the City of Pembroke Pines to call attention to and find solutions for the many issues parents and children face today at home and at school.

“This is going to be an incredibly special Raising Positive Children forum because it will inspire, challenge, and help us all become more aware of the many issues our children face today,” said Vice Mayor Iris A. Siple. “Enrique’s presence immediately illuminates a room, and his engaging presentation is not to be missed.  I encourage everyone to join us and experience this very special evening.”

Admission and parking are free. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please call 954-450-1030. Tickets are not required, however, participants are encouraged to register at http://tinyurl.com/raisingpositivechildren5
