Winners of the 15th Annual ART Competition and 2020 Art Festival Poster Announced

Pembroke Pines, FL (October 14, 2019) – Hundreds of residents, guests and friends attended the City of Pembroke Pines 15th Annual ART Competition opening reception.  Those in attendance enjoyed a delightful evening acknowledging both artists and their award winning artistic creations. The free Opening ART Competition Exhibition and Reception included refreshments and entertainment at Studio 18 in the Pines located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines.    
 
The winning art of the 15th Annual ART Competition is on display for public viewing now through Wednesday, November 6, 2019:
 
Best Digital Art: Bradley Brown for At the Edge of Freedom
Best Drawing Abel Marquez for Natural Balance
Best Mixed Media Lifrancis Rojas for Burning Desires
Best Painting Carlos Fuenmayor for Pinky Promise
Best Photography Don Sheffield for Florentine Graffiti
Best Sculpture Gary G. Roper for Watering Can with Funnel, Manganese
Best Watercolor Judy Nunno for 200 Steamed Dumplings
Best in Show Maria Raventos for Avila Reflexes
Festival Poster Winner Tammy Seymour, 2018 winner, for Heads Up
 
The winners of the ART Competition received a cash prize of $200 and the winner of Best in Show won $500. The Festival Poster winner, Tammy Seymour, won both a $200 prize and a 10 x 10’ space at the 2020 Twenty-Second Annual Art Festival in the Pines.  Additionally, her artwork will be printed as the limited edition 24” by 48” Festival Poster and the masterpiece will be featured as the cover of the Art Festival booklet and on all Festival promotional materials.
 
The 22nd Annual Art Festival will take place on Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15, 2020 at The City of Pembroke Pines Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.  
 
The local community is invited to view Art Exhibitions at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines any Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Admission and parking are free.  The art gallery is closed on federal holidays.  Studio 18 in the Pines, located off University Drive between Pines Boulevard and Pembroke Road, is operated by the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.  For additional information, please visit www.ppines.com/studio18 or call Amelia Mohamed at 954-961-6067.
