Pembroke Pines, FL (October 2, 2019) – Hundreds of Military Veterans, both active and retired duty personnel, attended the Fifth Annual City of Pembroke Pines United States Military Veterans Employment Expo at The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 NW 103rd Avenue in Pembroke Pines(off Johnson Street, one block west of Palm Avenue). The Mayor, City Commissioners and community leaders came out to greet and meet with participants.
The four-hour Employment Expo provided Military men and women the chance to meet with representatives from over 60 different potential employers and 15 social service agencies. The annual Veterans Employment Expo is part of the City of Pembroke Pines Re-Energize and Re-Connect Initiative which provides both housing and resources at the R & R Village, located on the Howard C. Forman Services Campus, for members of the military that are either active or have been honorably discharged. The Center’s volunteer program cordially welcomes those who are interested in volunteering for its Veterans programs.
