Eighth Annual
Senior Spanish Spelling BEE
Winners Announced


Pembroke Pines, FL (September 11, 2019) -  Participants 60 years and older enjoyed friendly competition during the Eighth Annual Spanish Spelling Bee held On September 10, 2019 at The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 NW 103 Avenue in Pembroke Pines (off Johnson Street, one block west of Palm Avenue).  
 
This year’s winner Salvador Santana won First Place by spelling the word (ciempies) correctly (translation - centipede). The Second and Third places and prizes were awarded to Mariana Izar and Mary Garcia.  The First place winner was presented with a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of $50.  The Second place winner received $30, and the Third Place winner received $20.
