Pembroke Pines, FL (August 20, 2019) - The City of Pembroke Pines encourages artists’ to participate in its 15th Annual ART Competition. Applications may be downloaded from www.ppines.com/studio18 or picked up at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines. Applications must be completed and returned to Studio 18 in the Pines prior to the application deadline which is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019.
We are calling all Artists to display their creativity and submit their work in up to eight artistic categories. Groupings and prizes include: $500 Best of Show, $200 Best Photography, $200 Best Drawing, $200 Digital Art, $200 Best Painting, $200 Best Mixed Media, $200 Best Sculpture and $200 Best Watercolor. One proposal from all of the entries will be selected to be the Festival Poster winner. Furthermore, a $200 cash prize, the Festival Poster winner will have their art showcased on the Art Festival booklet cover, and will be provided 10x10 free space, with a tent, for the extent of the 22nd Annual Art Fest in the Pines being held on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.
Each artist entry must contain the following criteria: A completed application, one high resolution 4” x 6” color photograph with the artists name, title of artwork, category & medium used, phone number, dimensions, price and a check payable to the City of Pembroke Pines for $15.00 for each piece of artwork that is submitted.
Participating Artists will be informed of their acceptance via email by no later than Tuesday, October 2, 2019. The selected artwork needs to be dropped off for installation to Studio 18 in the Pines on Friday, October 4, 2019. Accepted entries and winners of the competition will be presented at the 15th Annual Art Competition Reception being held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The competition winners will be announced during the opening. The Art Competition will wrap up on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Lastly, please read the application thoroughly for additional rules and details. The local community is invited to view Art Exhibitions at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines (off University Drive between Pines Boulevard and Pembroke Road) any Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Studio 18 in the Pines is operated by the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.
