Pembroke Pines, FL (July 5, 2019) – A fun-filled time, featuring games, music and food, was had by the thousands of  residents, guests and friends of Pembroke Pines that engaged in this year’s Independence Day celebration.  The event took place on Thursday,  July 4th 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Pines Recreation Center Festival Grounds located at 7400 Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines.
 
Families and friends, dressed in their patriotic colors of red, white and blue, relaxed on lounge chairs, blankets and benches throughout the early evening to enjoy the wide array of entertainment provided by the City of Pembroke Pines.  The event, free of charge, included hours of rides, games, bounce houses, arts and crafts, petting zoos, pie eating contests, potato sack races, pig races and slides energized the children and adults, who were then able to fulfill their appetites with hamburgers, hotdogs, shaved ice and many more delicacies that were available to them from The Food Truck Invasion, which also included a beer truck.  Additionally, families danced to the Top 40 sounds of the Clique Band from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
 
At 9:00 p.m., the 243rd Birthday Celebration of the United States of America concluded with the 20 minute premier Pembroke Pines All American Fireworks display.
