Symphony of the Americas presents

Summerfest 2019


Pembroke Pines, FL (July 3, 2019) - The Symphony of the Americas Summerfest celebration continues, with its acclaimed summer music festival presenting one month of performances throughout Florida and the Americas. The City of Pembroke Pines performance will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Susan B. Katz Theater of the Performing Arts at the River of Grass ArtsPark, located at 17195 Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines.

Summerfest, currently in season 31 and the longest running music festival in Florida, traditionally showcases both soloists and musicians from celebrated orchestras throughout Europe, including Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Opera Orchestra of Bulgaria, Mission Symphony Orchestra of Switzerland, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and others, performing a wide array of styles of classical and popular music for strings, all joined in a cultural exchange by principal musicians of our own Symphony of the Americas. Presented in association with Europe’s Musicfor, the festival aligns with their international mission of encouraging music, contributing musical instruments and their work with young students.  Overall, more than 10 different countries are represented on stage at Summerfest concerts.
 
The Artistic Director is Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, in the music of Hubert Parry, Vivaldi, Humperdinck, Beethoven, Tartini, Dvorak, and Mozart. Included also is a commissioned composition by Italian composer in residence, Lorenzo Turchi-Floris. Soloists are Angelo di Veroli, marimba~Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Italy; Summerfest Concertmaster Orlando Forte of Cuba; Symphony of the Americas Principal Trumpet~Claudio Osorio, Glenn Basham~Concertmaster of Naples Philharmonic, and acclaimed international organist Tim Brumfield, among others.
