Pembroke Pines, FL (June 11, 2019)  – Pembroke Pines children ages 15 years and younger are invited to register and get their wristband for the 10th Annual Mayor’s Kids’ Day event hosted by Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank C. Ortis.  Mayor’s Kids’ Day begins approximately at 8:00 a.m. on Friday June 21, 2019 and goes until 8:00 p.m.  Children 15 years of age and younger that are pre-registered and wearing the official Mayor’s Kids’ Day wristband will have an opportunity to search for deals and free items from local businesses located throughout the city.  Some of the things children might find include free bowling, swimming, tennis, haircuts, ice cream, mini golf, cookies and breakfast.  Businesses will also offer a significant amount of discounts on purchases, food samples, raffles and more.  Each year, more than 1,000 children throughout the City of Pembroke Pines take part in Mayor’s Kids’ Day.

Mayor Frank C. Ortis will host a fun filled lunch for the children from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines. They can challenge the Mayor in a City Trivia game for prizes, visit with both fire and police personnel, as well as mascots from several of the different sponsors. Before lunch, kids are encouraged to visit the BrightStar Credit Union at 12405 Taft Street to receive a ticket to be selected for a chance to be a winner at the money machine, which will be filled with valuable prizes at the lunch. Other new activities and surprises are also planned for this year’s lunch event.

Residents can sign up at numerous locations throughout the city up until Thursday, June 20, 2019, including the Pines Recreation Center, Rose G. Price Park, Town Gate Park, the Pembroke Lakes Tennis Center, and the Charles F. Dodge City Center.

Pembroke Pines businesses supporting the dawn to dusk event include Baptist Health South Florida, Brightstar Credit Union, Subway, Publix, American Pediatrics, Naidu Orthodontics, Broward County Libraries, YMCA of South Florida and many more.  Furthermore, you can find the list of sponsors in their entirety on the City website at www.ppines.com/specialevents and included in promotional material, including our Special Events page on Facebook.
