Pembroke Pines, FL (May 15, 2019) - Participants 60 years and older enjoyed friendly competition during the Ninth Annual Senior Spelling Bee held at The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 NW 103 Avenue in Pembroke Pines (off Johnson Street, one block west of Palm Avenue).
This year’s winner Cordella Lewis won First Place by spelling the word lackadaisical correctly. The Second and Third places and prizes were awarded to Selma Goldwasser and Brian Bruder. First place winner was presented with a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of $50. The Second place winner received $30, and the Third Place winner received $20.
