Pembroke Pines, FL (April 29, 2019) – A fun-filled time, featuring games, music and food, was had by the thousands of residents, friends and guests of Pembroke Pines that engaged in this year’s 59th Annual Pines Day Celebration. The 6-hour event began at 12:00 p.m. on April 27, 2019 and went until 6:00 p.m. on the plaza at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines. Participants took a trip through outer space and discovered educational facts about the galaxy. Children took the opportunity to explore the solar system with hands-on projects and interactive activities related to their voyage through outer space.
The event included a large variety of exciting activities themed "Pembroke Pines is Out of this World." At the celebration, there were two indoor portable planetariums provided by the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, activities, free popcorn and cotton candy, a zip line, bounce houses, free rides for the kids, a Kids Konnection Business Expo, raffles, goody bags and much more. Additionally, Pines Day offered attendees the best musical entertainment South Florida had to offer, with over 400 performers and dancers that entertained throughout the day. Furthermore, a 10-foot Birthday Cake was on display inside the lobby at the City Center. At 5:00 p.m., those in attendance enjoyed the “Party on the Plaza” Cake Cutting Ceremony where everyone had a piece of cake that indulged their sweet tooth.
Lastly, The Royal Court Pageant, included both The Little Miss Sweetheart and Miss Pembroke Pines, where a queen and princess were crowned in each age category.
