Pembroke Pines, FL (February 26, 2019) - The 21st Annual ArtFest in the Pines, in partnership with Artserve, is right around the corner.  The two-day art festival is taking place March 9 - 10, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.  ArtFest in the Pines will feature a wide array of fine arts in categories such as Jewelry, Drawing, Mixed Media, Digital Art, Painting, Fine Handcrafts, Photography, Wood, Glass and Three-Dimensional Sculpture. Parking and Admission to the event are free.
 
This year’s Festival Poster winner, Tammy Seymour for Jezebel, will have her art showcased on the Art Festival booklet cover, and will be selling posters of her winning art piece for the  duration of the 21st Annual ArtFest in the Pines.  (Jpgs of Jezebel are available for media)

ArtFest will be swarming with art lovers who will experience talented artists, the best musical entertainment South Florida has to offer, delicious food and refreshments from the food truck invasion, hands-on demonstrations, a farmer's market, pop-up art on the plaza, a kids’ art and game zone, both adult and children workshops at The Frank Art Gallery on the plaza and much more.  This is a fun event for all ages.

Artists who aspire to be a part of ArtFest in the Pines and show off their masterpieces can apply online by March 1st at 2 p.m. at www.ppines.com/artfest.  Additionally, there will be cash prizes for medium groupings and best in show.  A total of $4,500 in cash prizes will be presented to winning artists, $1,000 for Best in Show winner and $350 for Best by category. 

Lastly, As part of ArtFest, the 2nd Annual Student Art Competition will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. This competition is open to students who attend school or reside in the city of Pembroke Pines. The deadline for students to apply is March 2nd at 2 p.m. Winners in each grade level will be announced and receive a ribbon and gift card as follows: 1st place winner: $100 gift card, 2nd place finisher: $50 gift card, 3rd place finisher: $25 gift card. Collages, Drawings, Paintings, Photography, Sculptures or a combination of mediums are accepted.  Students will be judged on both innovation and artistic expression.  Following the awards ceremony, contestants are invited to a free ice cream social.
