Pembroke Pines, FL (February 20, 2019) – It’s time for all golfers to break out their drivers’, irons’, wedges’ and putters for the 18th Annual Mayor Frank C. Ortis Golf Tournament, benefiting the Pembroke Pines Charter School Foundation, on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Pembroke Lakes Country Club, located at 10500 Taft Street in Pembroke Pines.
The competition promptly gets underway at 10:30 a.m. with player registration, a putting contest, a delightful lunch, refreshments on the field of play and finally an 18-hole shot-gun tee off at 12:30 p.m. Additionally, both the driving range and practice tee will also be available for golfers to perfect their games. Each competitor taking part in the event will also receive a $50 gift certificate from the Pro Shop to stock up on more golf gear. Lastly, a cocktail reception, which includes an open bar, begins at 5:30 p.m. with a high-class buffet, live auctions and award presentations.
“Each year we have so much fun at this event, while at the same time helping the students and teachers of our award-winning Pembroke Pines Charter School System,” said Mayor Frank C. Ortis. “No matter what your golfing level of expertise, come out and join us for a great time.”
Over the previous 18 years, this golf tournament has raised over one million dollars thanks to the continued generosity of both golfers and sponsors.

The Pembroke Pines Charter School Foundation is a non-profit organization that personally distributes financial support and educational scholarships for the Pembroke Pines Charter School System. All proceeds from the Pembroke Pines Charter School Golf Tournament directly enhance each student’s educational experience.
