Pembroke Pines, FL (December 27, 2018) - The City of Pembroke Pines and the School Board of Broward County cordially invite families and friends to take part in a City of Kindness Event: Kindness/ Compassion/Forgiveness on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Walter C. Young Middle School field located at 901 N.W. 129th Avenue in Pembroke Pines.
Taking place during the lunchtime hours, residents can maximize their enjoyment by packing and bringing a picnic lunch and fully engaging themselves in the spirit of peace day. Families will have an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and decorate their Picnic Areas by embellishing their picnic blankets, baskets, backpacks, totes and coolers. Residents and friends may tag their acts of kindness with #PinesIsKind.
Mayors around the country are taking this initiative very seriously in the hopes of reintroducing “Good Old American acts of friendliness and kindness, one individual at a time.”
“As a city of great diversity, we are proud to participate in our annual City of Kindness event,” said Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank C. Ortis. “Each year more and more people join us which really warms our hearts. We have a great and very kind community.”
