Pembroke Pines, FL (October 16, 2018) – Hundreds of guests attended the City of Pembroke Pines 14th Annual ART Competition opening reception, sponsored by both the City of Pembroke Pines and the Shops at Pembroke Gardens. Those in attendance enjoyed a jubilant evening acknowledging both artists and their award winning works of art. The free Opening ART Competition Exhibition and Reception included refreshments and entertainment at Studio 18 in the Pines located at 1101 Poinciana Drive.

Best Drawing Frank Izquierdo, 2016 and 2017 winner, for The Wings of Desire

Best Sculpture Sandor Magnes for Mongolian Woman

Best in Show Magdaly Montenegro, 2017 winner, for Cubes
Festival Poster Winner Tammy Seymour for Jezebel
The winners of the ART Competition received a cash prize of $200 and the winner of Best in Show won $500. The Festival Poster winner, Tammy Seymour, not only won a $200 prize, but a 10 x 10’ space at the 2019 Twenty-First Annual Art Festival in the Pines, her artwork will be printed as the limited edition 24” by 48” Festival Poster and the work of art will be featured as the cover of the Art Festival booklet and on all Festival promotional materials.
The 21st Annual Art Festival will take place on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11, 2019 at The City of Pembroke Pines Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.
The local community is invited to view Art Exhibitions at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines any Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. The art gallery is closed on federal holidays. Studio 18 in the Pines, located off University Drive between Pines Boulevard and Pembroke Road, is operated by the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.
