Pembroke Pines, FL (October 2, 2018) – The season of giving is underway at The 15th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive put together by the Community Services staff at the City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center, located at 301 NW 103rd Avenue in Pembroke Pines. Donations must be in no later than Thursday, November 8, 2018.
Please deliver contributions of nonperishable boxed or canned foods, grocery store gift cards, cash or checks (made payable to City of Pembroke Pines) to The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus. Items will be accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Friday, and until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please drop off any and all donations prior to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018.
Over the past 15 years, the Community Services Department, with the assistance of schools, businesses and residents, have provided full Thanksgiving Meals to over 1,100 families. Year-round donations of nonperishable food items are accepted and then distributed to those in need.
