Pembroke Pines, FL (September 12, 2018) -  Contestants 60 years and older enjoyed friendly competition during the Seventh Annual Spanish Spelling Bee held at The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 NW 103 Avenue in Pembroke Pines (off Johnson Street, one block west of Palm Avenue).  
 
This year’s winner Nilda Landa won First Place by spelling the word (Fosforescencia) correctly (Translation - phosphorescent). The Second and Third place prizes were awarded to Gabriel Silva and Silvia Wikander.  First place winner was presented with a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of $50.  The Second place winner received $30, and the Third Place winner received $20.
