Pembroke Pines, FL – (August 9, 2018) Please join The City of Pembroke Pines for the Annual Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony at the Pembroke Pines Memorial Park, located at 601 City Center Way on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The event is free and everybody is invited to attend.
The Ceremony recognizes America’s First Responders, the men and women who bravely faced the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. The program will include the Presentation of Colors by the City of Pembroke Pines Police and Fire Department Honor Guards, patriotic music and comments from City Officials.
The City of Pembroke Pines displayed its September 11th Memorial on the Tenth Anniversary (2011) of the attack on Freedom at the Remembrance Ceremony. The Pembroke Pines Memorial Park is a powerful art project that honors both the 9/11 victims and survivors, first responders and others that assisted in the recovery. The September 11, 2001 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks against the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The terror attacks killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others, and caused at least $10 billion in damage. Numerous memorials have been established, including the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington County, Virginia, and the Flight 93 National Memorial in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
