Pembroke Pines, FL – (August 7, 2018) The sixty plus crowd, both men and women, auditioning for a spot on the Miami HEAT world renown Golden Oldies Dance Team brought the heat and danced to unimaginable levels during auditions at the City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus in Pembroke Pines.
The Heat was on, as rookies and veterans of the squad arrived to the audition wearing the Miami HEAT team colors of red, white, and black. The competition was on fire as the potential new members of the Golden Oldies learned routines, grooved to the music and showcased their funky dance moves for the judges.
“There was a wide array of talented men and women competing for a spot on the 2018 – 19 Golden Oldies Dance Team,” said Jay Shechter Director of Community Services and Housing for the City of Pembroke Pines. “This group of men and women will certainly energize the HEAT fan base and American Airlines Arena.
The Miami HEAT Golden Oldies, going on their 14th year, have become a fixture in the National Basketball Association as the most popular senior citizen dance team. All dancers must be at least 60 years of age, have flexible schedules for rehearsals, games, and appearances during the season.
