Free Twenty-Second Annual Health and Education Fair
November 1, 2017 * 9:00 a.m. until 1:00p.m.
At the City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter
Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus
Pembroke Pines, FL…October 10, 2017… The Free Twenty-Second Annual Health and Education Fair for the community will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 1:00p.m. at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 N.W. 103rd Avenue in Pembroke Pines, 33026. The Annual Health Fair offers free health screenings including glucose, cholesterol, hearing tests, mini-mental memory testing and a continental breakfast. Discounted flu shots are available for a fee, on a first come basis (cash, check credit card).
Attendees may visit fifty healthcare exhibitors who will provide a variety of health education information. The Health Fair also includes exercise class demonstrations, giveaways, entertainment, safety tips on fraud prevention, fire and home hazards, expired prescription take-back, a chance to win raffles donated by health care exhibitors. “Our Annual Health Fair brings a variety of social and healthcare resources to the attention of our community. Through the years we have been told that our Health Fair has inspired people to make a commitment to taking better care of themselves,” said Silvia A. Aguilar, Community Services Administrator. “By providing information people will learn how to take better care of themselves, and enjoy a more fulfilling life, which contributes to one’s emotional and physical well-being.”
The 2017 Health Fair is underwritten by Trustbridge Health, Caremax of Pembroke Pines, Coventry Health Care, Edward Jones Invenstments, Memorial Healthcare, Vanguard Medical Group, Humana Marketpoint Inc., and Costco.
During the weekday and evening The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus holds classes, workshops, activities and events for members 18 years and older and membership is free. Many events at The Center are free and some require a reservation/fee.
