Pembroke Pines, FL… August 16, 2017… Art is personal, as was evidenced by guests numbering in the hundreds, who were drawn to different locations upon entering Studio 18 in the Pines for “Out of Many ONE” a Celebration of Cultural Heritage through Abstract Art opening exhibition and reception on August 11, 2017.
The fifteen featured artists utilized a varied assortment of textures, colors and styles through their use of Acrylic, Bronze, Collage, Hand Woven Fiber, Mixed Media, Oil, Photography, and Sculpture. The evocative Asian and African art invited the observer to become immersed in an art and culture either familiar or foreign, but equally enjoyable. The artists’ creations of Contemporary and Traditional art elicited for some, a new appreciation for the distinctive Medias typically used in the creation of American and European art, inviting the observer to enjoy a new art experience based in familiarity.
Artists featured in “Out of Many ONE” are Kendy Atis LA, Tatiana Cast, Florencia Clement de Grandprey, Karl Jerry Craig, Lifrancis Rojas, Tristina Dietz-Elmes, Dolores Godinez-White, Debbie Grossman, Kay Kiria, Eleanor Leinen, Laurence Levine, Pamela Palma, Tina Salvesen, Diana Shanlatte and Zei.
“In Out of Many ONE, we celebrate Cultural Heritage through Abstract Art. Through their unique work, the artists share a part of who they are and where they come from. The observer is treated to an intricate feast for the eyes and the soul. Possibly sparking a personal memory or perhaps even a collective memory,” said Michael Edelberg, Curator & Community Engagement Coordinator at Studio 18 in the Pines.
