Pembroke Pines, FL… July 5, 2017… Throughout the year the community is invited to enjoy events, classes and programs at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 N.W. 103rd Avenue in Pembroke Pines, 33026. Now through the end of December The Center will host twelve events:  two indoor Flea Market and Bazaars, the annual Fall Arts & Crafts Show, a Veterans’ Employment Expo, the Antiques & Collectibles Show, the Southern Handcraft Holiday Fantasies Show, a Halloween Tea Party, the Annual Community Health and Education Fair, accept donations for its’ annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and wrap up the year with the Annual Holiday Open House and Holiday Tea Party. Some events required reservations, please read on for additional information about each event.

Summertime Tea - July 26, 2017 please RSVP by July 19, 2017
Enjoy a lovely array of tea sandwiches, decadent desserts and assorted afternoon teas. The two-hour Tea begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. Fee: $18.00 per person and reservations are required.
 

Two-Day Flea Market and Bazaar Benefit
August 19, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and August 20, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Over 100 indoor vendors, offering tens of thousands of items. FREE admission and parking. To inquire about Vendor Space availability, please contact Valerie Toth at 954.450.6888. Eleventh Annual Fall Two-Day Arts and Crafts Show
September 23, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and September 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Free Admission and Parking. Back by popular demand, The Artists in Action “Empty Bowls Pottery Sale”. Sales from pottery donated by the evening Pottery Studio students will help fund The Center’s Thanksgiving Food Basket program. For more information, or to inquire about Artist’s Space availability, please contact Valerie Toth at 954.450.6888.
 

Third Annual Veterans’ Employment Expo 
October 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. - Companies interested in hiring United States Military Veterans are invited to participate in the Third Annual Employment Expo for United States Military Veterans for retired and active duty personnel. The Expo will open to the public beginning at 11:00 a.m. Over 40 different companies and a dozen social service agencies will lend their expertise and assistance to aid United States Military men and women interested in getting back into the work force. Weekend Antiques and Collectibles Show and Benefit
October 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and October 15, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.mDaily Admission is $2.00 per person per day, or $3.00 per person for both days, paid on Saturday. Children under 12 are free. Parking is free!  Emilio’s Café will be open for refreshments. Please no animals, due to the fragility of Antique items for sale. Questions? Southern Handcraft Three-Day Holiday Fantasies Show
October 19, 2017 through October 21, 2017 - Free admission. The Annual Craft Show by Southern Handcraft Society at the SWFP Community Center is open on the following days and times October 19, 2017 from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m., October 20, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and October 21, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
 

Halloween Tea Party
October 25, 2017. Deadline to register is October 18, 2017. Fee:  $18.00 per person. The two-hour Tea begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. Enjoy a spooky array of tea sandwiches, decadent desserts and assorted teas!
 

Health and Education Fair  
November 1, 2017 Event begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 1:00 p.m. FREE and open to the public, the Health and Education Fair offers free health screenings, exercise class demonstrations, entertainment, food tasting, fifty exhibitors, giveaways and more!

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive
Donation deadline:  November 10, 2017. Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome for the Annual Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus Thanksgiving food drive to assist one hundred families. Donations will provide qualifying families with generously filled bins of non-perishable foods, turkeys and more to assure enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. To donate to this year’s food drive, please call 954.450.6888.
 

Annual Holiday Open House
December 14, 2017. Event begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.  Live entertainment, hot cocoa, cookies, face painting, and holiday displays. Santa will visit and give out party favors! Bring a camera and capture the joy!
 

Holiday Tea Party
December 20, 2017. Deadline to register December 13, 2017. Enjoy a holiday celebration of sight, sound and taste during a festive afternoon proffering tea sandwiches, decadent desserts and assorted teas! The two-hour Tea begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. - $18.00 per person.
