Pembroke Pines, FL…May 30, 2017…The City of Pembroke Pines will hold a Park Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony at 9201 N.W. 19th Street in Pembroke Pines on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., to honor Jack McCluskey, a 48-year resident and former City Commissioner and three time Vice Mayor.
The neighborhood park in the Rainbow Lakes section of Pembroke Pines will be named McCluskey Rainbow Park. The park features eight outdoor-lighted racquetball courts, a shaded walking/jogging/ bike path, and a covered tot lot/playground.
McCluskey and his wife Gloria raised their family in the Pasadena Lakes section of Pembroke Pines, where he began his lifelong service to Pembroke Pines as a Charter Member (1969) and later President of the Lakes Homeowners Association. In the ensuing forty years, McCluskey has held positions on dozens of City boards and committees, in addition to serving three terms on the Commission; he served on the boards of the South Broward Drainage District and the Broward League of Cities. Life has a way of coming full circle; McCluskey now serves as the City of Pembroke Pines Historian.
“We are recognizing Jack for his dedicated and continuous service to the residents and employees of Pembroke Pines,” said Mayor Frank C. Ortis.
Light refreshments will follow the Ribbon Cutting and Dedication ceremony. For more information, contact the Special Events Office at 954-392-2116.
