Pembroke Pines, FL… May 15, 2017… Summer officially begins in less than a month and Pembroke Pines Summer Camps for Art, Drama and Teens run by the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department are filling up fast. 
 
Summer Art/Drama Camp for children ages’ six to eleven and teenager’s 12 – 14 years of age is held Monday through Friday beginning June 12, 2017 through August 18, 2017. Campers may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. and leave no later than 6:00 p.m. Camp is not open on July 4, 2017. Parent/guardian driver's license and the child's original birth certificate, and a photocopy of each document is required to register for summer camp. Passports are not accepted. Register early, space is limited.
 
“Our Art Camp at River of Grass has filled up,” said Holly Bonkowski, Division Director of Cultural Arts for the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. “We do have openings for art camp at Fletcher Art and Cultural Center and Drama Camp at River of Grass.”
 
The Summer Art Camp is offered in five, two-week themed sessions and includes swimming, field trips, games, dress-up days, children's art show and fine art Instruction. Children participating in Summer Art Camp enjoy getting messy. Instructors recommend sending a shirt or smock with each camper to protect clothing.
 
Summer Drama Camp for children eight to eleven years of age and teenagers 12-14 years at the River of Grass ArtsPark is offered in two, four-week sessions. Summer Drama Camp focuses on movement, creative storytelling, vocal techniques, improvisation, playwriting, staging and creating characters, swimming, field trips, games and much more!
 
Summer Camp Fees:
Art Camp: $250.00 per two- week session and/or Drama Camps: $500.00 per four-week session, plus an annual non-refundable fee $25 per child. Payment of cash, check or money order only.  Lunch and beverages are not included in summer camp fees. A sibling discount is available.
