Kids may begin registering on June 5, 2017 for this fun filled day, packed with activities and give-a-ways . Mayor Frank C. Ortis hosts the annual dawn to dusk event for Pembroke Pines residents/kids ages 15 and younger, who are pre-registered and wearing the official Mayor's Kids' Day wristband. The day also includes lunch with the Mayor and lots of fun including a dance party, games, cake, a chance to win prizes and pose with mascots. Pembroke Pines business sponsors will attend the lunch to give kids surprises and treats. Mayor's Kids' Day business participation is available through sponsorships and the donation of samples, coupons, prizes, activities and more. Ortis and the City Commission. Pastor Peter Tokar will officiate the ceremony and patriotic music will be performed by local school children. Residents are invited to submit non-returnable photos of military loved ones living or deceased, for the “Salute OUR Soldiers” display located on the first floor of Pembroke Pines City Hall.
