MLK Jr. Student Poetry Contest

Grades 3-12


Pembroke Pines, FL (November 20, 2025) -- The City of Pembroke Pines invites students, grades 3rd – 12th, attending school or residing in Pembroke Pines to respond to a call for original poetry, spoken word or creative writing pieces for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry Contest. This literature competition will bring together the voices of the local youth with their reflections on Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy. 

Submission Details

All pieces must be original writing containing at least 15 words and at most 300 words. Submissions can be e-mailed to thefrank@ppines.com and will be accepted from Monday, November 10, 2025, until Monday, January 5, 2026.
