7th Annual Seniors vs. Seniors Spelling BEE

Pembroke Pines, FL (January 19, 2023) – The City of Pembroke Pines is hosting the 7th Annual Seniors vs. Seniors Spelling Bee on February 7, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center, located at 301 NW 103 Avenue in Pembroke Pines.

All are invited to this friendly and fun spelling competition that features Pembroke Pines Charter High School Seniors and Southwest Focal Point (SWFP) Senior Citizens who are at least 60 years of age. This spelling bee brings together two generations to compete for the chance at cash prizes of $50, $30, and $20 that are awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers, respectively. Additionally, the winners will have their names engraved on a perpetual cup trophy and bragging rights for the upcoming year.

The event is free for Center members, and a SWFP Membership Card is required to participate. Charter School Seniors are from the 12th grade and register through their school to take part in the competition. For more information please call at the Southwest Focal Community Center at 954-450-6888.
