Pembroke Pines, FL - ( June 30, 2022) Visitors, residents and friends of the City of Pembroke Pines are cordially invited to enjoy the opening event of “American Graffiti,” a free Art Exhibition at Studio 18 Art Complex that showcases artworks inspired by street art, graffiti, tagging and urban ephemera. The pieces in the exhibition reflect the cycle of influence that the urban and social landscape presents to contemporary artists and in turn, how these artists inspire the creative street movement. Contemporary Graffiti has emerged from the urban environment to encompass a much larger and complex influence. This exhibit seeks to acknowledge the historical importance of graffiti as an art form, while simultaneously providing a glimpse of its many new varied forms.
Located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines, the exhibition runs July 15, 2022 through September 2022. Everyone is welcome to take part in and enjoy an opening reception being held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. which includes wine, refreshments, music by DJ Chris Hodgson, and an opportunity to meet the artists.
The upcoming Exhibition will include the creative works by well-known South Florida artists such as Nelson Cabrera, Dimitry Said Chamy, Didi Contreras, Daniel Fila, Carlos Fuenmayor, Michael Glidden, Kandy Lopez, Daniel Marosi, Brandon Opalka, Oliver Sanchez, Mary Gallagher Stout, and Michelle Weinberg.
