Pembroke Pines, FL (April 19, 2022) – Pines Day is back and fast approaching! After a two year hiatus, the City of Pembroke Pines cordially invites families, friends, guests and residents to join in the birthday festivities at the city’s 62nd Birthday on Pines Day, being held this Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on the plaza at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.
A large assortment of exciting activities will be on full display for a fun-filled day of celebrating, which will include both musical and dance performances from local artists; a Kids Konnection Business Expo, featuring kid-friendly businesses that will keep children and parents up to date on what there is to do in the City of Pembroke Pines and neighboring areas; free rides for the kids, free popcorn, free cotton candy and many more surprises.
Additionally, The Royal Court pageant, which includes The Little Miss Sweetheart and Miss Pembroke Pines, will take place inside the City Center Commission Chambers at 4:30 pm where both a princess and queen will be crowned in each category. Eight young ladies will be crowned and become the newest city ambassadors. Contestants must be pre-registered prior to the event and must be residents of Pembroke Pines, ages 3-5; 6-8; 9-12; and 13-16.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., guests are invited to “Party on the Plaza” for a Cake Cutting Ceremony where everyone can satisfy their sweet tooth and enjoy a piece of cake. Those interested in something more can fulfill their cravings and purchase both food and drinks from a variety of different food trucks.
Lastly, be sure to stick around for a special musical performance from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to conclude the party, featuring the Sugar Hill Gang known for the Rapper’s Delight and Apache (Jump on It) songs to add to the celebration.
