Theatre and Art Summer Camps

Registration Begins April 19, 2022 (Residents Only)


Pembroke Pines, FL (April 12, 2022) - Registration will soon get underway for Summer Art and Drama Camps run by the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.  Summer Camp enrollment is open to children ages 6-14 years of age. Summer Camp is held Monday through Friday beginning June 13, 2022 through August 12, 2022.  Campers may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. and leave no later than 6:00 p.m.  Camp is closed on July 4, 2022 in observance of July 4.  Register early, space is limited.  A one-time non-refundable registration fee of $25 (per child) is required.  Registration begins Tuesday, April 19, 2022 for Pembroke Pines residents and Tuesday, May 3, 2022 for non-residents.  Proof of residency and child’s birth certificate is required.    
 
The Summer Art Camp for children ages six to 11 years of age offers five, two-week sessions from June 13 through August 12, 2022.  Pembroke Pines residents pay $260 per two week session and non-residents pay $285 per two-week sessions.
 
The Summer Art Camp sessions are themed and include a wide array of activities such as swimming, field trips, games, dress-up days, children's art shows and fine art instruction. Children participating in Art Camp will enjoy getting their hands dirty.  It is highly recommend by the instructors that each camper bring an additional shirt or smock to protect their clothing.
 
The Summer Drama Camp for children ages eight to 11 years of age and teens ages 12-14 years old. Performances are held at the River of Grass ArtsPark in the Susan B. Katz Theater at 17189 Sheridan Street.  Offered in two, four-week sessions, Summer Drama Camp includes: concentrating on movement, creative storytelling, vocal skills, improvisation, playwriting, staging and creating characters, dress up days, outside play time, swimming, field trips, games and a special performance at the end of each session.  It will be held June 13, 2022 through August 5, 2022.  Pembroke Pines residents pay $520 per four-week session and non-residents pay $570 per four week sessions.
