Pembroke Pines, FL ( February 9, 2022) - Please join The City of Pembroke Pines in a remembrance prayer vigil to commemorate the four-year mark of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting tragedy at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines next week on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. The event is free of charge and everybody is invited to attend.
The ceremony pays tribute to the 17 members of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, both students and staff that sadly lost their lives, and acknowledges the strength and recovery of the staff, students and families who survived.
The program will include light music, prayer and a candlelight ceremony. Everyone is invited to join the Pembroke Pines Community in a day of respect in kindness and love. Additionally, the United States and State of Florida flags will be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations and grounds from sunrise to sunset to pay tribute.
Lastly, The City of Pembroke Pines encourages the wearing of face coverings and social distancing at this gathering to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
