Pembroke Pines, FL (February 2, 2022) - Pembroke Pines Charter High School Seniors and Southwest Focal Point (SWFP) Senior Citizens put their spelling proficiency to the test and enjoyed a friendly competition during the Sixth Annual “Seniors vs Seniors” Spelling Bee held in the main hall at The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 NW 103 Avenue in Pembroke Pines (off Johnson Street, one block west of Palm Avenue).
This year’s winner, Lily Mazurek, won First Place by spelling the word “bullion” correctly. The Second and Third places and prizes were awarded to Jullian Villarta and Carol Matthews. The champion was presented with both a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of $50. The Second Place winner received $30, and the Third Place finisher received $20. Lastly, the 2022 Winners will get their names inscribed on a perpetual cup trophy and bragging rights for the calendar year.
Adults 60 years of age or older may register for the free SWFP membership, adults 18 thru 59 years of age can register with an annual fee of $20.
