Pembroke Pines, FL (December 18, 2019) - The City of Pembroke Pines, Broward County Parks and Recreation and the School Board of Broward County welcome families, friends and guests to take part in a City of Kindness Event: Kindness/ Compassion/Forgiveness on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at CB Smith Park located at 900 N. Flamingo Road, Shelter 19, in Pembroke Pines.  Event entrance will be off Taft Street.

Taking place during the lunchtime hours, all of those in attendance can maximize their fun and relaxation by packing and bringing a picnic lunch, blankets and chairs and engage themselves in the spirit of peace day. During the Community Peace Meal Picnic, everyone will be encouraged to make random acts of kindness promises, enjoy musical entertainment, storytelling and much more.  Families will have a unique opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and decorate their Picnic Areas by embellishing their picnic blankets, baskets, backpacks, totes and coolers.  Awards will be presented for the best decorated picnic areas.

Mayors around the country are taking this initiative very seriously and with the utmost importance in the hopes of reintroducing “Good Old American acts of kindness, one individual at a time.”
