[ARCHIVED] Calling All Artists - 15th Annual Art Competition

Artists are welcome to participate in the 15th Annual ART Competition. Applications may be downloaded from www.ppines.com/studio18 or picked up at Studio 18 in the Pines, located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines. Applications must be completed and returned to Studio 18 in the Pines prior to the application deadline which is 5 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019. Artists are welcome to submit in eight categories. Categories and prizes include: $500 Best of Show, $200 Best Photography, $200 Best Drawing, $200 Digital Art, $200 Best Painting, $200 Best Mixed Media, $200 Best Sculpture and $200 Best Watercolor. One submission from all of the entries will be chosen to be the Festival Poster winner. The Festival Poster winner will receive a $200 cash prize, have their art highlighted on the Art Festival booklet cover, and will be provided a 10x10 free space, with a tent, for the duration of the 22nd Annual Art Fest in the Pines being held on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way.

Each submission must be accompanied by a completed application, one high resolution 4” x 6” color photograph with the artist’s name, artwork title, category & medium(s) used, phone number, artwork dimensions, artwork price (if applicable) and a check payable to the City of Pembroke Pines ($15.00 for each piece of artwork submitted).  Artists will be notified of their acceptance via email by Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Selected artwork must be dropped off to Studio 18 in the Pines for installation on Friday, October 4, 2019.  For more information, please call Amelia Mohamed at 954-961-6067. Accepted entries and winners of the competition will be on display at the 15th Annual Art Competition held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Winners of the competition will be announced during the opening.  The Art Competition will conclude on Wednesday, November 6, 2019.
