Prepare to “check mate” at the Mayor’s Second Annual Chess Challenge being held on May 20, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Pembroke Lakes Golf Club Nineteen Restaurant, located at 10500 Taft Street. This is part of a free and friendly series of chess meet-ups created to draw attention to the benefits of chess in both the academic environment and in our community.

Chess players of all ages and skills are welcome to play chess with Mayor Frank C. Ortis, City Commissioners, Broward County officials, community leaders and other players at this monthly traveling challenge. Instructors are on hand to help those new to the game.
