[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Season 2022

The City of Pembroke Pines continues to monitor any and all storms throughout the Atlantic this Hurricane Season which ends November 30th.  Please continue to check with The National Hurricane Center for updates. As always throughout Hurricane Season, we ask everyone to remain prepared. For preparation information and resources, please visit www.ppines.com/hurricane.  Update information regarding any active storms in our area can be found HERE.

11/9/22: The administrative offices (City Hall, Public Services, Community Services, Police/Fire (non-critical response personnel) and park locations will be closed Thursday, November 10, 2022, due to the anticipated tropical storm winds due to Hurricane Nicole. As Broward Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 10th, the Pembroke Pines Charter Schools and Early Development Centers will also be closed on Thursday. Please also be advised that the administrative offices (City Hall, Public Services, Community Services, Police/Fire (non-critical response personnel) will close today, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 3:30 PM to allow everyone to drive home early when it is still daylight due to the anticipated tropical storm winds due to Hurricane Nicole. 

Residential garbage service will proceed unless there are sustained winds of 35 mph.  Residential Bulk service Zone #4 is suspended Thursday, Nov. 10th and will resume as storm weather passes.

11/8/22:  Due to Tropical Storm Nicole, Broward Schools and District offices (Pembroke Pines Charter Schools) will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, November 9. All before and after-school activities are canceled, including field trips and night classes. Aftercare will not be available. In addition, the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center will be closed and all Senior and Community Bus routes will be cancelled on  Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Due to inclement weather, the Community Meeting hosted by Commissioner Iris A. Siple that was scheduled for Wednesday, November 9th at the Pembroke Pines Charter West Campus is cancelled and will be rescheduled.
