Visitors, residents and friends of the City of Pembroke Pines are cordially invited to enjoy the newest exhibition “American Graffiti” July 15 through September 7, 2022, a free Art Exhibition at Studio 18 Art Complex that showcases artworks inspired by street art, graffiti, tagging and urban ephemera. The pieces in the exhibition reflect the cycle of influence that the urban and social landscape presents to contemporary artists and in turn, how these artists inspire the creative street movement. Contemporary Graffiti has emerged from the urban environment to encompass a much larger and complex influence. This exhibit seeks to acknowledge the historical importance of graffiti as an art form, while simultaneously providing a glimpse of its many new varied forms. Located at 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines, the exhibition runs now through September 2022. The exhibition includes the creative works by well-known South Florida artists such as Nelson Cabrera, Dimitry Said Chamy, Didi Contreras, Daniel Fila, Carlos Fuenmayor, Michael Glidden, Kandy Lopez, Daniel Marosi, Brandon Opalka, Oliver Sanchez, Mary Gallagher Stout, and Michelle Weinberg.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, July 15 at 7 pm -- all are invited! Studio 18 Art Complex is located at 1101 Poinciana Drive. For more information, please call 954-961-6067.
