[ARCHIVED] Building Dept. Update - Public Access

buildingDept_update

Beginning Monday, March 29, 2021, the City of Pembroke Pines has modified COVID-19 restrictions on public access to the Building Department at City Hall. Staff will continue to provide essential services and will now have limited interactions with the public from Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Face masks must be worn by all customers and permit counter staff while in the building. Permit counters have been equipped with plastic barriers between the applicant and the building department staff.

Although the Building Department has limited public access on Monday thru Thursday, it continues to be operational for inspections and plan review services for both existing permitted projects as well as permit application submittals.

All small project permit applications must be submitted electronically for residential re-roofs, A/C change-outs and misc. electrical and plumbing repairs. All other large projects can be submitted at the 2nd floor, permit counter windows, or submitted as drop off applications to the Building Department’s drop off cart that is located in the lobby of City Hall on Mondays thru Thursdays, 7:30am to 5:00pm. All payments for drop off submittals must be paid online (https://fl-pembrokepines.inkforce.net).

Note changes: If you chose to submit at the 2nd floor permit counter window you must sign in with the permit technician at the first floor drop off counter, located in the City Hall Lobby. Only 3 permit counter windows will be open at this time to ensure safe social distancing practices. No more than 6 customers (1 per window and 1 waiting per window) will be allowed at the 2nd floor permit counter at a time. After signing in at the first floor drop off counter the customer will be directed to go to a certain 2nd floor permit counter window or asked to wait outside until they are called by a permit technician on their provided cell phone number. Permit counter submittal payments can be made with check or credit card.

Plan reviews are still being performed, and plan examiners are available to answer plan review questions via email and telephone Monday thru Thursday. All contact information can be found on the building department’s website (https://www.ppines.com/Directory.aspx?DID=16). Inspections are being performed as scheduled by the contractors. All our employees are practicing social distancing as set forth by CDC guidelines. We are wearing PPE as required and using hand sanitizer.
