[ARCHIVED] Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed from June 9, 2014 through August 15, 2014 and must be 15years or older, completed the 9th grade by September 1, 2014 and live in Pembroke Pines or attend one of the Pembroke Pines Schools. Activities at the camps include swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, sports and more. Volunteer packets are available at Pines Recreation Center, 7400 Pines Blvd. 954.986.5022, or at Rose G. Price Park, 901 NW 208th Ave. 954.437.1140 or request a packet to be emailed to you.
1. Special Population Camp: Volunteer to work with individuals with disabilities. The goal is to provide quality recreational opportunities (games, field trips, art, crafts and swimming) for children and adults with special needs, ages 6 – 22years of age.
2. Art Camp: The Summer Art Program offers two-week sessions of art lessons. Theme-related songs, dances, games, and crafts are incorporated into the curriculum.
3. Drama Camp: is held in two, four-week sessions that focus on performing arts and theater. Children write their own scripts, edit, and incorporate music into the plays.
4. Tennis and Golf Camp: Activities include recreation games, swimming and educational skills in tennis and /or golf.
