Animal Assistance Program
|The Pembroke Pines Animal Assistance Program is a dedicated group of volunteer employees from the PPPD who are committed to reuniting lost pets in the City of Pembroke Pines with their owners, or finding them new loving homes with the assistance of local rescue groups.|
Get InvolvedPlease check the Pooches in Pines website to see any lost dogs we have rescued, as well as animals we have available for adoption. You can also go to their Facebook page or contact them via email.
If you should lose your pet, please contact the Pembroke Pines Police Department (954-431-2200) to see if we have rescued your animal.
Donations will be used to support the Pembroke Pines Police Animal Assistance Program for animals they rescue, to provide food, shelter and medical care while seeking the owners of these found pets and to help various rescue organizations that take animals for adoption when we cannot find the owners. All checks can be may payable to the City of Pembroke Pines with 'Animal Assistance Program' or 'Pooches in Pines' in the notes section. We also accept donations of pet food, leashes, animal crates, etc. Any and all donations can be dropped off at the East or West Pembroke Pines Police stations.
We thank you in advance for your kindness (and the animals thank you, too).
Fostering & Adoptions
When no owners are found for lost dogs, the animals are placed in temporary foster homes where they are given vet care, love and security prior to being placed into a permanent home through rescues. The length of time an animal might spend in a foster home depends on the animal's condition, and the availability of the right match with an adopter.
Pooches in Pines always needs foster homes and/or willing adopters. If you can assist, please contact Pooches in Pines via their Facebook page or by email at email@example.com.
