What is GIS?

A geographic information system (GIS) integrates hardware, software, and spatially linked information to create, manage, analyze, and map a wide variety of data.

At the City of Pembroke Pines, we use GIS to track progress on current projects around the city, respond to emergency events, perform data analysis, and even predict future problems and solutions. We work with every department city-wide to manage their spatial data.

Our GIS improves communication and project management, leading to increased efficiency in decision making for our staff, our residents, and our future.
