Comprising seven staff members, the division is organized into two specialized groups: The General Team and the Utilities/Public Works Team. Each team consists of a Senior GIS Analyst, GIS Analyst, and GIS Specialist. The General Team is dedicated to managing GIS service requests from various City departments, while the Utilities/Public Works Team focuses exclusively on requests from the Utilities/Public Works Department. Both teams work under the leadership of the GIS Manager, who is committed to ensuring that the City’s GIS needs are effectively met.

What is GIS?

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) combines hardware, software, and spatial data to create, manage, analyze, and visualize information. GIS is used to explore and interpret the world by revealing patterns, relationships, and trends through imagery, maps, applications and reports.

The City of Pembroke Pines utilizes GIS to track community assets, monitor ongoing development projects, respond to emergencies, analyze key metrics and forecast future challenges to develop data-driven solutions.

GIS strengthens communication and optimizes daily operations, leading to more efficient decision-making that benefits the city’s long-term growth and development strategy.
