Executive Order 20-179 was issued on July 29, 2020, and allows millage and budget hearings under Chapter 200, Florida Statutes, to be held virtually. The order also includes meetings and hearings regarding non-Ad Valorem assessments under section 197.3632, F.S. This part of the order expires at 12:01 a.m. on October 15, 2020.

In an effort to encourage people to stay at home, limit public gatherings, and slow the spread of the coronavirus, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis waived state requirements for local governments to have in-person quorums for public meetings as part of Executive Order 20-69. As a result, the City of Pembroke Pines is hosting virtual Commission meetings using audio/video conferencing software until further notice.
