Dear Friends:
It's
my honor to serve as your City Commissioner for Pembroke
Pines District 4 -- the Southwestern portion of our
city. District 4 includes all areas South of Pines
Boulevard but North of Pembroke Road, and West of
Flamingo Road out to US 27,
plus the communities of Chapel Trail and Malibu Bay. We
are a culturally diverse and exciting community joined
together by common pride and desire to see our city
progress. We're a vibrant and friendly district of
residents, businesses, parks and environmentally
preserved areas. I love our city. My wife and I are
proud to raise our family here. You can count on me to
protect and defend our home. To make it better. And to
uphold the standards that make our quality of life
special.
According to CNN/Money and Bloomberg/Business Week
Magazines, Pembroke Pines is the best place in Florida
to live and raise a family. We've also received the
prestigious All America City award. Those are high
honors among others that the city has received. But we
are also a fantastic place to do business, to recreate
or retire. Few communities offer our combination of
outstanding quality of life, low taxes and great
services. Pembroke Pines is not a community of
complainers, when we see a problem we fix it. We speak
up when we like something, and especially when we don't.
That's what keeps City Hall responsive to you. Let's
keep it that way.
The responsibility you've given me to represent you in
City Hall is an obligation I take very seriously. That's
why I meet with residents constantly to learn what they
think and how we can improve our city. This is essential
because it keeps me focused on what's important to you.
Our city faces difficult challenges in the days ahead.
These challenges are not mine alone, they belong to
every resident and together we must address them to keep
our city moving forward. It's that feeling of
participation, of being in it together that makes us an
All American City.
To keep you informed, I write an article every month
appearing in most of your community newsletters. Please
share your thoughts and comments with me about the
articles or about anything of interest to you in our
city. Your comments and concerns are important to me and
I can assist you in English or Spanish as you prefer. I
consider myself very lucky to live here and so should
you. Let's make sure we always feel that way.
Angelo Castillo, Commissioner
City of Pembroke Pines,
District #4
