  1. ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

    October 30, 2018, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    For the past 20 years, the Southwest Focal Point Community Center together with donations from schools, businesses and residents assists 100 families in our community by providing generously filled bins with various canned & dried foods, turkeys and much more for a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. To help with this year’s food drive, please call (954) 450-6888. Donations must be in no later than Thursday, November 8, 2018.

  2. VOLUNTEERS' TRIP TO THE VA NURSING HOME

    October 30, 2018, 10:15 AM - 12:15 PM

    The last Tuesday of each month, our dedicated group of SWFP volunteers travel to the Nininger State Veterans Nursing Home to socialize with clients, play games and provide activities. Join us in visiting these forgotten heroes that live in our city and listen to their stories; you'd be amazed of what they've gone through and experienced. Trips are provided by the Center will depart SWFP at 10:15 am and return at 12:15 pm.

  1. "Pre-Decorated" Pumpkin Carving Contest

    October 30, 2018, 6:00 PM - 8:15 PM @ The Charles F. Dodge City Center

    Get creative this Halloween Season and participate in the Pumpkin Carving Contest. Families are encouraged to bring in their “Pre-Decorated” pumpkins to B00-ville on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center located at 601 City Center Way. Pumpkins must be carved, painted and decorated before the event. No moving props, no flames or candles, only battery tea lights permitted. Registration will take place between 6:00-6:20pm. All participants must provide a completed form. You must choose only one of the three categories. Funniest, Scariest or Most Original. Awards will be presented to the First, Second and Third Place winners in each category. Kids will also cast their votes for the “KIDS CHOICE AWARD” all winners will be announced at 8:00pm. All participants are responsible for taking home their pumpkins. Staff will not be responsible for pumpkins left behind. Please have them picked up by 8:45pm or they will be discarded.

  2. Boo-Ville Halloween Event

    October 30, 2018, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ The Charles F. Dodge City Center

    Family fun is right around the corner this Halloween season. Hosted by the City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, the City’s Annual “Boo-ville” is taking place on Tuesday October 30, 2018 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines. Boo-Ville, with surprises at every turn, is a Halloween event that’s fun for all ages. Admission and Parking are free. Boo-Ville features pumpkin patches with hidden prizes, movies, a costume contest, trick or treat stations, arts & crafts, and many more fun activities. The Teal Pumpkin Project, a national campaign by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), will designate non-food treats to children at Boo-Ville who have food allergies, and for those whom candy is not an option.
