The Program
The City of Pembroke Pines is dedicated to using the arts as a tool to foster social engagement. Curated exhibitions and events invite culturally diverse audiences to view, and/or participate in a multi-disciplinary variety of cultural arts programming. Pembroke Pines is the recipient of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Public Leadership in the Arts Award, a National Endowment for the Arts “Our Town” Grant, and a Harvard Kennedy School ASH CENTER “Bright Idea” distinction for Innovation in American Government for recognition in making the arts approachable and affordable to the community.

The Frank Art Gallery – opening on April 27, 2017, will be a premier exhibition and learning space dedicated to creating a cultural climate to foster connections and community engagement. Contemporary artists, guest curators, performers, and thought leaders will converge to produce and share work essential to building an inclusive creative community. Chief Curator | Head of Cultural Projects, Jill Slaughter, named Best Curator in Broward – Palm Beach by the New Times exhibits the work of contemporary established and emerging artists. Jill’s exhibitions also showcase non-artist groups and organizations in an effort to encourage unity by merging fine arts with the community at large. Jill views both the art enthusiast and novice as an integral part of fortifying Pembroke Pines’ commitment to arts and culture. Exhibitions can be seen citywide.
